About the location
Holidays in Naples take you to the ancient capital of
Campania, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Naples’ historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, standing between the sweeping Bay of Naples and the looming volcano Mount Vesuvius.
For culture vultures, the city’s streets are packed with ornate buildings, piazzas and monuments from various periods in history, plus museums and art galleries that show off the best of Naples through the ages.
Naples is also renowned as a gastronomic destination, and not just because it was the birthplace of pizza. As you explore the lively streets, you’ll find some amazing little restaurants serving up fresh seafood, local pastries and a huge variety of fritti – lightly fried and battered snacks. Beyond the city, pretty islands like Ischia and Capri are just a short boat trip away, while Naples is also a great base for exploring the Neapolitan Riviera and the nearby Amalfi Coast.

The Palazzo Alabardieri is perfectly located in the heart of Naples on the Via Alabardieri, a side street with a good restaurant, Alberto's and an excellent deli/small basement restaurant within a minute's walk. The beds are divinely comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the bar and salons a delight to relax in. We were in a group of about 15 on an art/music tour. The Palazzo Alabardieri could not have been more conducive to a good trip.

Arrived early to a pleasant welcome. Having stayed last year, We asked if I could have a room with more light. The receptioinist explained that as we had booked a "twin room", it wasnt possible.
We accepted this, but when we did check in the room was set up with a double bed! I asked if it could be made into twins, but a different reception staff said it wasnt possible until the following day! My explanations were ignored. My friend spoke to the manager and we finally got it sorted.
All that aside the rest of the stay was great again. Room was very clean and a good size. All of the staff were friendlyand helpful and breakfast was perfect for us. Dont expect a massive selection, but there is everything you could want.
The location is great, close to shops, restaurants and the port is only a 5-10 minute walk.

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel in the Chiaia area off a plaza in a very interesting window- shopping area with many local restaurants. We could walk to the lovely coastal strolling area with lots of nice restaurants overlooking the beach, Via Chiatamone. Just ask for directions at the desk(15 min). And we could walk to the major sites 20-30 min. like Galleria Umberto, Municipo Piazza, Teatro di San Carlo.
The rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was was and wonderful start to each day. We asked them to help arrange a trip to see Herculenium for us which they were able to do via email.
We arranged a half-day tour for 6 people. The hotel arranged a driver to the site plus, as required by most historical sites in Italy, a guide certified to tour in that site.
What a pleasure to be picked up at our hotel in a clean car with a good driver who took us to the entrance of Herculenium where we met our Herculenium guide, Stefania. At our request she had purchased ???Skip the Line??? tickets so we were able to beat the crowds and the heat.
Stefania was an excellent guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about Greek and Roman history, art history, and the archeology of the area and also shared many details about the life of the residents at each of the places we saw in Herculenium. Our 2 1/2 hr. tour was fascinating and one of the best tours we had at the many historical sites we visited we visited these 2 1/2 weeks.

Hotel Palazzo Alabardieri is a nice and friendly hotel located in the central part of Naples. We stayed here for two nights. Large enough double room, but a bit strangely organized with a piller in the middle of the room. The service at the front desk was pleasant but not overly friendly. The breakfast was excellent and contained everything that we like to have in the morning.
