About the location
Holidays in Ravello take you to one of the most stunning locations in
Italy, overlooking the spectacular Amalfi Coast, between the towns of
Minori and
Amalfi itself. Ravello is built on a series of terraces above steep cliffs that plunge down towards the sea, with narrow streets gradually winding their way up towards Piazza Duomo, where the town’s 900 year old cathedral commands the square. It’s a charming spot that has been attracting the rich and famous for decades – artists, writers and film stars have all been captivated by Ravello’s charms, adding a splash of glamour to this rustic little place.
Explore Ravello’s rich history, with several medieval noblemen making their homes here. Their legacy remains in buildings like Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. Both were later bought by wealthy British visitors and are now popular attractions because of their elegant architecture, ornamental gardens and incredible views. For relaxed days of wandering, Ravello’s streets and squares are peppered with cafés and restaurants, as well as craft shops selling the hand-made ceramics that this area is famous for.

Villa Fraulo is located near the central square of Ravello, the hotel is very clean, large rooms, beautiful sea view. It offers excellent breakfast in a breathtaking balcony with a beautiful view of the Amalfi coast line. The bed is good as well as the shower.
The problem is that it is on the main road and the garbage truck passes by at 5:00 am making excessive noise. We stayed there for two nights and despite our numerous requests, they did not agree to move us to a quieter room (although there was vacancy). They requested that we pay extra for a decent night sleep. As it is the hotel is an expensive hotel (also in "Amalfi terms") and we would expect to enjoy a quite night for such a price.

Fabulous, quality hotel at the top of the beautiful town of Ravello. Stayed for three nights celebrating a special anniversary and enjoyed every moment. Room was spacious and bright with a great sea view across to Minori. Staff were very professional yet friendly and provided a high standard of service. Meals served on the terrace were wonderful and the magnificent views from our table added to the experience. Easy walk down to the main square, Villa Ruffalo and on to Villa Cimbrone. We were there during the famous music festival and attended the sunrise concert at Villa Ruffalo. An experience to remember.

Booked deluxe double with sea view balcony. Stunning views. Perfect location in Ravello to reach everywhere on foot therefore avoiding the extortionate taxi fares others in our party staying elsewhere in town experienced. 40 euros for 3 minute drive! Very pleasant room but ... bed spread chronic ruined whole look, no free water but this seems normal in Italy but not what we are used to for price, no milk with tea making tray. Bed very very comfortable though with memory foam mattress and pillows. Beautiful traditional bathroom- nice towels and robes. All very clean. Shower ok but hand shower not working and shower head sprayed up to ceiling partially. Limited wardrobe space.
Reception staff were great really helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble. But sunbathing during the day felt like a B and B. Place was deserted It was impossible to find a member of staff initially for a drink. Sun deck over crowded with sun beds (not bodies) grubby - Noted plaster and piece of nail lying there over two day period. Good to have a small pool but hotel needs to address pigeon problem. By 11 am one end of pool and side ledge full of bird excrement. Pool area generally needed updating and felt grubby. Breakfast good and lunch very good and great value for sitting in a stunning setting. Pretty setting overall ok but felt over priced for experience, even for Rip off Ravello! Addressing a few small things could make this an amazing hotel however as it was it was fine but not fantastic
