The Roman town of Pompeii was destroyed more than 2,000 years ago but the continued preservation of the site allows visitors to discover and learn about the town and visualise life before the devastating eruption.
This excursion transports you to the ancient ruins by luxury mini-bus (approx. 1 ½ hours) before the walking tour begins. A knowledgeable historian will guide you around the archaeological site and give you detailed descriptions of the ancient Romans, their lifestyles, their day-to-day habits and activities. Seeing the ruins up close gives you a real insight into the catastrophic impact of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD and the aftermath of the town buried in metres of ash and pumice.
