Lovely hotel with a nice room. A bottle of Prosecco was waiting for us in our room however the metal cage around the cork was rusting so I think it was very old and not drinkable. An oversight I hope. The first evening meal was not good and tepid. Geraldo quickly rushed to get a different starter that was hot and from then on did everything in his power to make sure every meal was superb. He was the heart and soul of the hotel. Breakfast was reasonable but could???ve been better as nothing hot. Lots of cakes. In a nice spot location wise. Without Geraldo it would not have been good, he turned things round as food is everything in Italy as well as to us.

You won't be disappointed with this charming hotel that has recently undergone a very beautiful renovation. The food is phenomenal, fresh, authentic and delicious...way better than most of the restaurants that are advertised. The pool is rare for most hotels in the area and very beautiful, lush green landscaping around it. They also have their own large beach area with chairs right across the street.
Beautiful, authentic Italian hotel in the heart of Amalfi that you can easily explore via regular ferries to the other towns.

A lot of research went into this trip. I browsed probably a hundred hotels up and down the Amalfi coast before deciding on where to stay. We chose this area because of it's affordability and to get away from the crowds. Don't get me wrong, there are still a lot of people, but nowhere near staying in Amalfi, Positano or Sorrento, and those are still easily accessible via bus, taxi or ferry (there is a ferry directly from Maiori).
Hotel Pros: Beautiful location. Room was very spacious! 2 large beds, double sinks, large shower. This was a much nicer hotel than the pictures showed. There is a decent sized buffet breakfast with omelet bar. This area is also opened for dinner, which was very good. Pool is nice, water is chilly but refreshing when it's so hot. The bar is open almost all day and the cocktails are quality. It is hard to find a hotel that has both a pool and breakfast. There is also direct access to the beach right across the street. The hotel has it's own area of sun-loungers, which you do have to reserve and pay for, but that is typical on all of Amalfi.
Hotel Cons: if you stay in the rooms facing the beach, be aware that the main Amalfi road runs right in front (small road but the sliding door does little to mute sound). Since the town nearly closes in the middle of the day, people stay out late. There is a lot of road and people noise that goes on until very late. There was a wedding on one day we stayed, and a concert across the street the next night (these went on until 2/3am). There is also not a lot of space around the pool, so limited lounge chairs.
I gave 5 stars because road noise is not something that could be helped, and for the quality of the hotel, with the amenities, it's a very good deal!
