About the location
Conca dei Marini is a tiny fishing village commune with just a handful of amenities, yet there is a quaint rural charm here that can’t be found in many other places along the Amalfi Coast. Relatively untouched by tourism, Conca dei Marini is perhaps best known for being the home of the hidden Grotto dello Smeraldo – a remarkable karst cave that rivals the Blue Grotto found in nearby Capri. Journey inside and the cave will divulge its secret feature – an inner chamber where visitors can witness a dazzling reflection of bright emerald light as the sunlight is dramatically refracted. Elsewhere in this cliffside village you can find a smattering of authentic restaurants, often with mesmerising sea views, as well as a sleepy marina that perfectly encapsulates the charm of the Italian coastline. Better still, Conca dei Marini is just a short drive from Amalfi and Furore, making it easy to explore these stunning towns during your getaway.
The hotel is 1 hour 30 minutes from Naples airport. Return private transfers included. To change your transfers or book car hire instead, simply call us once you’ve completed your booking.

My wife and I visit in June 2019 and were greeted by cheerful and helpful staff who helped us get settled. The hotel's restaurant has great views of the sea and excellent food (the lemon sea breem was one of the best meals I had along the Amalfi Coast). The hotel is a 30-second walk to the bus stop, but if you visit during peak season, the bus will likely be full and skip this stop in Conca dei Marini. The hotel is located close to the town of Amalfi, which was very convenient. We spent time in Amalfi, but also used it as a jumpoff point to visit Positano and Capri by ferry.

After days of searching for the ideal hotel for our four day, first ever visit to the Amalfi Coast, finally settled on this 50 year old property at the edge of a cliff with a fantastic view of the sea overlooking towards Sicilly. I had almost booked a similar hotel in Amalfi Town overlooking the marina there but changed it to the Belvedere at the last moment as that hotel did not offer free car parking as the Belvedere. I wanted my rented Mercedes in a secure place.
My wife was at first was very disappointed to the point of being angry for selecting this hotel as she had vision Ed the hotel will be in Positano or a small town on the coast unlike the Belvedere which had nothing by its sides. She refused to get down from the car. I persuaded her to come and see it and after staying for a night we may rebook in a hotel of her choice. Upon entering the reception lobby we were greeted by cheerful reception staff. After checking into our room seeing with the balcony overlooking the sea, my wife relented her anger and slowly accepted it as a wonderful place to be in.
The room was big with a good sized balcony and the bathroom was also nice. We enjoyed our four nights there. The dinner choice everyday was expansive and must say was very delicious. The Maitre d was an excellent person. The swimming pool, set on the edge of a lower cliff is one of the largest in the area and has a fantastic view of the sea to the south.
However their were some minor deficient issues that needs the management's attention. The room locker needs to be a preper one instead of the miniscule one tucked inside the refrigerator. The cable TV system should be more user friendly then the complicated system. The breakfast could have had some variety every few days. The hotel could consider installing electronic doors in tandem with modern times. However all told and done, the Belvedere is a lovely place to stay in the Amalfi Coast.
