Relax on the Beach in Cilento

Cilento is one of Italy’s last, untouched regions, offering spectacularly rugged hills and seemingly endless forests. Yet Cilento also boasts one of Italy’s most spectacular coasts, stretching for miles and boasting some of the country’s finest beaches. Yet, due to its proximity to the glamorous Amalfi Coast, Cilento’s own coastline remains somewhat off the tourist radar, and refreshingly free from holiday tourism.

What the Amalfi Coast has in chic boutiques and stylish cafes, Cilento has in rural splendour, with an incredible 28 Blue Flag beaches scattered along its length – many of which remain virtually empty throughout the year. There are some livelier beaches too, however, including the locally-popular beach at San Marco di Castellabate, and the laid-back beach resort of Agropoli.
