NH Collection Firenze Palazzo Gaddi

A lovely hotel, tucked away on a back street about 5 minutes' walk from the tram stop which brought us straight from the airport for €1.70. Luxury without pretensions. The room was clean, well-appointed, and had all the modern facilities. Wi-fi worked well. Oh, because there are two types of Italian plug, the adaptor I brought was the wrong size (Murphy's Law) – can't blame the hotel for that. The breakfasts were interesting, and again, excellent without being pretentious. The high point was the attitude of the staff who went over and above the call of duty to help us enjoy our stay in Florence. From the smiling gentleman who opened the door for us, to the concierge who helped book a day trip to Siena, to the gentleman who took care of us at breakfast – these made for a perfect stay. In February, the roof terrace bar was closed, but watching the sunset from the roof terrace, with the accompanying murmuration of starlings over the city, became a nightly ritual for us. I'm sure this will not be our last stay at Palazzo Gaddi. Oh, and I found that an alumnus of my Cambridge college (John Milton) had also stayed there.

Right around the corner from the main street. Great location. Small room, but super comfortable bed. Bathroom was small but has great amenities. Breakfast was good, the dining area is excellent. Lobby with fireplace is one of a kind, great for sitting and hang out.

This is a very beautiful hotel with excellent location. It is five minutes walk to the cathedral and the loggio. Nice quiet street but very close to all the main sights. Short 7 min walk to the main train station. The best part of this hotel is the people. Everyone, literally every person, was very helpful, friendly, and engaging. I so t think iv been to a hotel where literally each person was very nice. I was traveling solo and they all made me feel comfortable. Special mention to the restaurant manager (very nice lady at night, forgot her name and just kept calling her the manager). She is super friendly and really took care of me. She loves AC milan while im a fan of Inter. Also enjoyed the service of the breakfast waiter Mirko who was especially very nice. The breakfast has good options and like most italian , coffee was good. They have a small courtyard next to the restaurant, nice place to relax for a bit. The rooms are amazing and the bed is super comfortable, definitely the best bed out of all NH hotels iv stayed in (iv been to many, including madrid, munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, regensburg, others). Alessia at concierge was giving great recommendations and helped a lot in my restaurant selections. This hotel checks all the boxes: room, location, safety, service, food, concierge. True five star experience.
