Named after the poet, Torquato Tasso, it’s the central square in Sorrento and is always busy, with traffic driving through and people rushing around – a haven for those who enjoy people watching and soaking up the atmosphere. Also, explore the charming cobbled streets of Via San Cesareo and the historic centre.
In the evenings, it’s the place to go for an aperitivo or your evening meal. The traffic isn’t allowed after a certain time turning Piazza Tasso into the preferred meeting place of locals, with plenty of bars and restaurants lining the square.
