My name is Davide and I look after Rome.
I’m originally from Sicily, but I’ve been living and working in Rome for three years. I love the history and the beauty of the city; when you walk around Rome it’s like an open museum, because of the buildings and the history. You see fantastic statues and buildings, fountains and monuments. If you want to get away from the crowds there are beautiful parks to walk around – it’s very relaxing.

For the daytime, I would suggest going to the centre and seeing the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum – they’re not far from each other. For the evening, I would just going to the Trastevere area, which is on the other side of the bridge. That’s where all the Romans go in the evening because there are lots of bars and restaurants, with very nice food and drink.
When it comes to food, there’s fantastic pasta in Rome, including carbonara, amatriciana (tomato and bacon) and gricia (bacon, parmesan and pecorino cheese).
Anywhere you go in Rome there’s pizza. It’s different than in Naples, where they tend to do the pizza very thick; in Rome, they do very thin and crispy pizza. I love it! My favourite topping is sausages, mushroom, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.
