How to travel to Italy now

Travelling Direct to Italy

As of the 1st June 2022 all COVID-19 entry requirements have been removed for entering Italy.

You no longer need to prove your vaccination status or take a COVID-19 test.

The requirement to wear a FFP2 graded face covering on flights to Italy has been removed - however airlines may still request this, so please ensure you carry one with you at all times. FFP2 graded masks must still be worn when using any form of transport in Italy.

Travelling to Italy by Rail

If you are travelling to Italy by rail, via France you will need to be able to show proof of one of the following:

  • Have proof of been fully vaccinated with your 2nd vaccine no older than 7 months.
  • Have proof of a receiving a booster vaccine, which carries no expiry date.
  • Have a negative PCR test completed within the 72 hours prior to departure or Antigen within the 48 horus prior to departure. Tests must come with a valid travel certificate.
