Via Garibaldi was designed in the 1550s, housing shops, restaurants, bars and boutiques. It’s a picturesque street built in the Renaissance style, filled with impressive buildings covered in beautiful frescos. At one end is the Piazza Castello with the Madama Palace, the museum of ancient art that offers wonderful views across Turin. At the other end is the Piazza Statuto, where you’ll find the monument of the Frejus tunnel, constructed from the rocks that were extracted from the tunnel that connects France and Italy. Being 250 metres long, it's also one of the longest pedestrianised streets in Europe.
