Book our multi centre holiday to Sorrento and Capri and take in the beauty of the Neopolitan Riviera and experience the style of Capri.

Your adventure begins in Rome, so make your way to the Spanish Steps and the iconic Trevi Fountain. Then, explore the ancient ruins, including the Colosseum, and discover more about this fascinating city. You’ll round-off your stay in Rome with a visit to the Vatican.

After a picturesque train ride through the countryside, you’ll then make your way to Sorrento. After getting to know Sorrento, you’ll be exploring the Amalfi Coast. Later, visit the sites of Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii, and walk among the ancient ruins that have been preserved by volcanic ash.

The end of your trip takes you to the gorgeous island of Capri. There, you can start to wind down by relaxing on the beach, or treat yourself in the many boutiques.

This is the perfect multicentre experience for history and culture lovers as well as couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Arrive in Rome and check into your hotel in the city centre. From here you can spend the afternoon exploring the streets. We highly recommend walking to the Spanish Steps, one of the world’s most iconic sights, before throwing a coin into the nearby Trevi Fountain. In the evening, dine at the Albergo Hotel Fontana restaurant, making sure to book a window table for views of the fountain. Alternatively, Pizza in Trevi is perfect for an informal dinner, while Hostaria Trevi da Aldo e Armando is ideal for delicious pasta dishes.

Spend the whole day exploring the magnificent sights of Rome, the Eternal City. Pre-book our Ancient Rome and the Colosseum excursion to see Rome’s main sites. On your third day in Rome we recommend a visit to the Vatican, which is its own sovereign state and home to some celebrated sights. See the Sistine Chapel and its famous ceiling and frescoes before visiting the world’s largest church, where the Pope hosts mass when he’s in the city. For your last evening in Rome, head to Piazza Navona and watch the sun set over the city.

Make your way from Rome to Sorrento by train. Start at Roma Termini, the city’s main train station, from where you can take the train through Italy’s countryside to Naples station, which takes around one hour. Your transfer will be ready waiting to take you on to Sorrento, which also takes around one hour.

On arrival, check in to your hotel before heading out to explore the city’s lively streets. The city’s main square, Piazza Tasso, is ideal for people watching and the perfect way to start your stay in Sorrento.

Spend the day admiring the beautiful city of Sorrento and its many attractions. Located along the Neapolitan Riviera, it is home to some spectacular views of the sparkling sea below. Book our Amalfi Drive excursion, which will take you around the clifftops, which wind their way parallel to the coast. Take in some truly incredible views, stopping off in little towns with pastel coloured buildings along the way.

If you prefer to stay in Sorrento itself, head to the Marina Grande district, where you’ll find a pretty marina with little fishing boats, and plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants where you can while away the afternoon as you overlook the sea. For a sense of history, head to Chiostro di San Francesco church.

Choose to immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Romans with our Pompeii excursion today. Buried after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, the volcano both destroyed and preserved the town, providing well preserved artefacts, buildings and ruins ideal for history lovers. Wander through the ruins and museum with a guide before heading to Mount Vesuvius for some wonderful vistas over the Bay of Naples.

Spend the afternoon wandering through the town of Sorrento, before enjoying a last meal in the town. For fine dining we recommend L’Antica Trattoria, which combines authentic Italian dining and a wonderful atmosphere with luxury ingredients and some excellent wines. Porta Marina Seafood is perfect for sea views, while D’Anton is a relaxed restaurant serving fuss free authentic Italian cuisine.

Make your way from Sorrento’s marina, Marina Piccola, to the glitzy island of Capri by hydrofoil, which takes around 20 minutes. View the island from the sea, and see its little villages spilling down to the shoreline as you approach by boat. Spend the afternoon relaxing in an upmarket bar or café by the water’s edge, watching the rich and famous as they arrive on their yachts. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the area’s atmosphere with a wander through the winding streets or pick up souvenirs in one of the little boutiques.

Spend a relaxed two days exploring everything Capri has to offer, or just immersing yourself in the island’s leisurely pace. Make sure to try some of the delicious seafood, which has usually been caught the very same day, or spend an hour or two soaking up the sun at one of the chic beach clubs. Ristorante da Gemma is perfect for al fresco dining as you take in the sea views, while Gennaro Amitrano is ideal for a special evening of fine dining.

For a spot of retail therapy there are plenty of options here, with chances to stumble across some of Italy’s finest fashions around every corner. Head to small boutiques or designer outlets and pick up the latest fashions and accessories.

Enjoy a last glimpse of the island of Capri as you take the 40 minute hydrofoil journey back to Naples. From here you can catch your flight home to the UK or enjoy one of our other excursions or tours.

Flight Information

Most international flights arrive into Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO), which is about 45 minutes from the centre of Rome. Direct flights to Fiumicino travel from from Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, Leeds, London City, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle. The flight time comes in at about 2 hours 30 minutes.

Some direct flights also head to Rome Ciampino airport (CIA); it's approximately 30 minutes away from the city centre. These flights jet off from London Stansted, Edinburgh, Manchester, East Midlands and Glasgow, taking around 2 hours 30 minutes.
