Map of Day 1: UK – Naples

Arrive into Naples airport and take the short transfer to your centrally located hotel (approx 30mins). Naples is the birthplace of pizza so don’t waste any time before tucking into a slice or two!

Day 2: Naples

Points of Interest

Naples is the perfect base to explore the historic sites nearby – while you’re in the area why not book a trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum?

Whilst in the beautiful city of Naples wander the Piazza del Plebiscito, a 19th century piazza lined with two main features. The Royal Palace and the Neo-classical façade of the church of San Francesco di Paola are both free to explore. Take a break from the sun and savour a fresh scoop of gelato served from within the piazza.

Day 3: Naples

Visiting the oldest opera house in Europe is must for lovers of culture. Enjoy a guided tour of San Carlo Opera House (approx. €6 per person) learning the history of the spectacular building. Those with more time of their hands can enjoy an opera, ballet or concert performance in the evening.

Continue your culture filled day and visit Naples’ historic centre. For a totally unique experience explore the maze of tunnels 40metres underground. We recommend taking a guided tour of the tunnels to discover the stories of what once were Roman markets and World War II air raid shelters.

Day 4: Naples – Ischia

Today, catch the hydrofoil ferry (approx. 1 hour) to the largest island off the Neapolitan Riviera and check into your chosen hotel. Begin to unwind with a trip to one of the many thermal spas on the island of Ischia. We recommend The Poseidon Thermal Gardens offering guests a choice of 22 different temperature-controlled thermal pools.

Day 5: Ischia

Head to Ischia Porto, the islands capital, to soak up the sun on the white sandy beach. After a morning of relaxing, meander through the town stopping at one of the many vibrant beach bars to enjoy a refreshing drink. For those looking for a beach with a more laid back vibe head to the beautiful beach resort of Sant’ Angelo.

Days 6-8: Ischia

Take the short bus ride from the harbour to Ischia Ponte and explore the Aragonese Castle. A steep mule track leads the way to this medieval castle, offering spectacular views from the highest levels.  An easier way to view the castle is via the modern lift accessible to whisk you straight to the castle’s doorstep.

La Mortella Gardens, designed by the wife of composer Sir William Walton, are perhaps Ischia’s most beautiful attraction. The peaceful paradise has stunning views of the volcanic hillsides and are filled with tropical plants and pretty water features. In memory of Sir William Walton musical performances are still a huge feature of the gardens; so why not spend the rest of your day enjoying the concerts in the warm evening sun.

Days 9-10: Ischia

Today, it’s time to head off the island for a day trip to Procida. We suggest visiting the islands main town, Corricella, where colourful houses and a golden church cling to the hillside. This toy town is filled with local boutiques and traditional restaurants serving home grown produce. Other areas on the island worth a visit include the picturesque beaches and the historic village of Terra Murada.
