On day 1 in Italy, your countdown to the Grand Prix begins. Check in to your hotel, before making the most of your free time before the race by exploring Milan. This is one of northern Italy’s most striking cities, with jaw-drop architecture (don’t miss the soaring Gothic cathedral, one of the finest in the country) as well as a slick drinking and dining scene.

If culture’s your thing, make sure you squeeze in a visit to the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, where you’ll find Leonardo Da Vinci’s world-renowned painting of The Last Supper (don’t forget to book your ticket in advance).

In the evening, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a few drinks and pre-race chat with your fellow F1 fans at a relaxed Gullivers social.

How you spend day two is up to you. You can make the most of Formula 1 fever and attend Qualifying Day; after breakfast, take the luxury coach to the circuit in time for the practice and qualifying laps, and look out for other races taking place on the day.

Alternatively, save yourself for race day and see more of Milan. Head to the trendy, canal-side Navigli neighbourhood to browse its cool vintage shops, antiques markets and bars, and while you’re shopping, don’t miss the huge Galleria Vittoria Emanuele, one of the world’s oldest (and grandest) shopping malls.

Save this evening for an introduction to aperitivo, a classic Italian traditional of early-evening cocktails, snacks and socialising before dinner. Milan is one of the best places in Italy for aperitivo, and we love the Corso Como complex for rooftop bars and Negronis.

It’s race day! After breakfast, you’ll take the luxury coach to the circuit in time for the Formula 1 Driver Track Parade at 12.30. The Grand Prix itself kicks off at 2pm, and there will also be plenty of track action for the GP2, GP3 and Porsche Super Cup Series.

After a busy day on the tracks, relax with a low-key dinner at your hotel or in the city. Being a northern Italian city, the cuisine in Milan is characteristically hearty; risotto is a favourite, with local speciality risotto alla Milanese gracing most restaurant menus. Lombardy is a productive wine region, too, responsible for well-known sparkling vino like Franciacorta.

After a final breakfast in Milan, it’s time to catch your transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK. Not ready to go home yet? It’s easy to extend your trip – why not have a relaxing few days in Lake Como, or continue the racing theme with a visit to Bologna and its brilliant Ferrari museum.

Extend Your Stay

Take in more of the destination or relax in a spa at the end of your trip by adding few extra nights stay in one of these hand picked hotels.
