- Located in the heart of medieval Perugia close to historical sites
- Splendid views over the Umbrian valley below
Hotel SINA Brufani is a splendid example of an Italian five star luxury hotel set in the heart of medieval Perugia, with fantastic views of the city and the Umbrian hills beyond. Rooms are decorated traditionally with antiques and sumptuous fabrics and the whole place evokes nostalgic feelings of times gone by. The crowning glory of the SINA Brufani is surely the small indoor pool, where you can swim over the glass bottom and admire the Etruscan ruins below. About the location
Rising from the countryside in a jumble of medieval buildings, Umbria’s capital city offers an enchanting blend of history, culture and lively student energy. The tower of the 15th-century San Domenico Basilica stands tall above the city’s centro storico, while across town lies the historic University of Perugia.
Rocca Paolina fortress is one of the city's top attractions, offering miles of underground passages and an impressive history entwined with revolt and war. From acclaimed museums to ancient churches, and from rambling streets to spacious piazzas, the city is an oasis of authentic Italian sights and sounds.
If you only visit one part of the town, we recommend the Piazza IV Novembre and surrounding area. Illuminated prettily at night and bustling throughout the day, this historic square is right at the heart of Perugian life. The adjacent Palazzo dei Priori is also worth a look in – it contains some of the city’s best galleries, including the Umbrian National Gallery.

From the time we arrived until the time we departed, the entire staff was outstanding! The room was spacious, the linens were fine, the bathroom was spacious, and the maid service was excellent! The restaurant and bar was one of our favorites on this trip! I cannot say enough about the staff and service we received on our stay. The location is absolutely ideal. I highly recommend!!

If you are travelling between Rome and Florence don't miss the chance to visit Perugia, known as "the most beautiful of Italian minor cities" with its unspoilt medieval charm. Hotel Brufani stands on top of Perugia's highest hill right over the Rocca Paolina, Italy's largest surviving Medieval fortress with commanding views of the Umbrian landscape and the hotel itself is absolutely worth a visit. I am a great fan of historical grand hotels and I must confess that the Brufani has stolen my heart. Celebrating this year its 140th anniversary, Hotel Brufani is the brightest example of what a turn-of-the-century "grand dame" should look like in the 21st century. It is hard to describe in words the atmosphere that pervades this aristocratic palace: every inch of this magnificient piece of architecture and of exquisite taste exudes a sense of warmth and refinement that defies easy description, walking through the common areas will take you on a journey in time and make you feel like a modern traveller of the grand tour, rooms and suites provide the pleasure of indisputable style showcasing stunning Carrara marble bathrooms, exquisite furniture and antiques carefully blended with modern touches like light wood parquet flooring and soft tone grey walls creating a sophisticated ambience with plenty of Italian flair. On top of the beauty of the establishment the hotel is run with passion by skilled staff that will pamper you and cater to every needs with smiling and attentive service further enhancing your stay. I hope you will have the oppurtunity to stay at this hotel and experience the best luxury hotel experience ever!

This is a beautiful, elegant, and historic 150 year old hotel rooted in Italian sensibility and traditional hospitality. It’s also welcoming, comfortable, affordable, and perched in an enviable position overlooking the lovely hills of Perugia and a 3 minute (flat) walk to the historic center. It is not a cookie cutter chain hotel, nor a luxury property like those in The White Lotus — for us a wonderful plus. The breakfast is terrific including the best cappuccinos we had in Italy. The rooms were great with modern bathrooms and we enjoyed the heated swimming pool as well. The staff were very helpful in arranging a special tour of nearby Assisi for us and were always cordial and gracious including the wait staff at breakfast who are hospitality stars. Hats off to Eva at the front desk and to Josh, the bell captain. We would return in a heartbeat and hope we have the chance to do so again.
