Marina di Pietrasanta boasts one of Italy’s best beaches, plus a bustling pier and lively restaurant scene. Set in front of the historic medieval town of Pietrasanta, this resort is best noted for the many bagni (beach clubs) set along the front. These venues often offer visitors a prime slice of beachfront, changing facilities, dining and more, all for a reasonable entry fee. There are some public beaches too, and the town’s iconic pier is a popular place for a stroll. Up and down the front, you’ll also find a number of cafes, bars and gelaterie. Al fresco dining is big business here, with plenty of outdoor dining terraces available. Further back, you’ll find the town of Pietrasanta, where an ancient duomo stands above the rooftops. Pisa is just half an hour by train, too, so you can easily access some of the region’s biggest attractions.
