Family run property in a central location
The Hotel Monte Rosa is located in the small medieval city of Chiavari, close to the promenade that overlooks the spectacular Ligurian Coast. This charming property has been passed down through the Bacigalupo family and guests will love the personal service provided.
The hotel itself offers a range of facilities to ensure an enjoyable stay with outdoor swimming pool, hydro massage tub, and sun terrace equipped with sun beds and parasols surrounded by lemon trees and bright, fragrant flowers. Those wanting to get out and explore the old town full of quaint side streets and local markets can hire bicycles free of charge; and further afield lies the UNESCO listed Cinque Terre, and towns of Portofino, Rapallo and Santa Margherita.
There are also plenty of opportunities to sample Ligurian cuisine with a Cafeteria Bar serving up a range of cakes, light snacks and typical focaccia, an a la carte restaurant, and terrace bar open during summer months.

Chiavari is a quintessentially Ligurian town. Set on the seafront south-east of Genoa, its houses are decorated in the vibrant reds, oranges and yellows that you’ll see all along the coast here. Stroll through the streets and you’ll stumble across a series of beautiful buildings – elegant palazzi, a grand cathedral, a crenellated courthouse. In the medieval centre, look out for the 12th-century palazzo edged by portici; it’s one of Chiavari’s most atmospheric sights. As for the beaches, the main event is a wide stretch of sand and shingle, while a short way out of town you’ll come across some pretty, tucked-away coves.
Chiavari is well connected by train and boat to other Ligurian gems – head north for Rapallo and glitzy Portofino, or south for the quaint Cinque Terre villages.
