Hotel Villa del Sogno

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Positive points -Location. The views from the hotel are stunning. It’s approx 20 minute walk from the nearest town with bars and cafes and there are some lovely ones to choose from. Staff. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and did there best to make our stay as happy as possible. The lady at reception was especially helpful arranging us taxis and an excursion. Evening dinner. We had one evening meal at the restaurant on the terrace and it will be a fantastic memory. Really fantastic service with crepes made at the table and meat carved. The beef main course was the best we have had anywhere. A room with a balancing overlooking lake Garda is a superb place to be. Things that could be better. The breakfast offering was a little disappointing. Service again was fantastic but have had better food option elsewhere. It is a steep walk up to the hotel and the steps are not particularly well maintained. Overall though a fantastic stay, made all the better by the helpful staff.

Again spend wonderful days at Villq del Sogno. Enjoyed the fabulous terrace and lake view daily at breakfast. Staff is super friendly and attentive, really makes you feel welcome. Spending time leisurely at the pool is a treat. Location is a good starting point for many sight seeing trips. One comment - the gym needs an update.

We returned to this delightfully located hotel after 18 years with fond memories of the wonderful dinners on the terrace. They remain the most charming aspect of this hotel, with candlelit meals overlooking Garda. The hotel itself has been modernised in our absence, with well equipped rooms including efficient walk in showers, though the lighting is a little confusing. Our standard room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice seating area. Wi-Fi was good, though reception is limited in some parts of the hotel. A couple of niggles: no Nespresso machine or even a kettle in the room, and only one free water bottle for a five day stay. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of cold choices and eggs or omelettes to order. The American bar area is comfortable too with good inside and outside seating and a choice of cocktails. We had live music on one of our five nights. We dined at the hotel each night - for the terrace experience - and the food is very good, but choice is limited and unchanging: nightly specials should be considered. It was good to see fresh fruit and cheeses as decent dessert options though. Starters are big enough to share, and mains average at €35 a head; wine list is good with plenty of bottles around the €30 mark and decent wines by the glass. A small glass of Prosecco and amuse bouche is provided with dinner. The hotel is a short walk to Gardone and a bus goes to Salo and Brescia every half hour (steep walk back up the steps). We were pleased overall to find the hotel retained the charm we had remembered, but it could benefit from some helpful additions as described.
