About La Granchiaia
Situated in beautiful countryside just outside the village of Marti in the area of Valdama, Villa Granchiaia is a glorious 18th century farmhouse ready to offer you a wonderful Tuscan holiday. La Granchiaia was restored in the 20th Century and reshaped in 2004 and is in keeping with other properties in the lower Arno valley (the river crosses Florence and Pisa and flows to a few kilometres from the estate). The surrounding area offers gentle wooded hillsides, olive groves and sloping plains where corn, maize, barley and sunflowers grow.La Granchiaia is reached by a short, gravelled driveway, standing in very private grounds with views up the nearby hillside village of Marti.
The barn building is equipped as a play room with table tennis table and seating area. Adjacent to this is a shady outdoor dining area perfect for al fresco meals. Historically owned by the Florentine Baldovinetti family La Granchiaia offers an excellent example of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse where features such as stone floors and beamed ceilings have been retained in the original condition whilst the facilities have been modernised, and many items of antique furniture have been used in the equipping of this villa.
