This rustic semi-detached, two-storey house is located in a quiet, picturesque setting at the foot of the hill that leads to Cortona, 4 miles (6.5km) away. The old house is typically Tuscan in style with natural stone walls and has been totally renovated with great style and taste, giving a homely atmosphere. On the ground floor is a comfortable lounge (with television) that leads to the kitchen/dining room which has a large open fireplace and a long wooden dining table. Facilities include a fridge/freezer, oven with grill, 4-ring gas hob, washing machine, dishwasher and iron. There is also a single bedroom on the ground floor, which has a fireplace and a writing bureau, plus a shower room. The other three bedrooms are on the first floor (two doubles and one twin) of which the master double bedroom has an en suite bathroom and the other double can be accessed via exterior steps to the first floor. There is also a separate bathroom on this floor. A real highlight of Villa Caterina is the delightful private garden with its well-tended array of flowers, shrubs and trees. There is a pretty fishpond here, as well as the private free-form swimming pool (normally in use May-Sep), for the exclusive use of villa guests. The tiled patio has a barbecue and furniture for outside dining. The village of Camucia is just 2 miles (3km) away, horseriding is available in nearby Frantoio and the Hotel Il Falconiere, with its renowned restaurant, is within walking distance.
