Located on its own private island, the deluxe 5* San Clemente Palace provides a welcoming haven from the hustle and bustle of Venice's centre, yet is only a 10 minute boat ride from Piazza San Marco.

The formerly abandoned 17th century monastery, once belonging to the Order of the Camaldorese monks, is now a luxury hotel after careful restoration. Elegant public areas feeding off long corridors are adorned with fine antiques and luxury furnishings. The guestrooms continue to embody their palatial surroundings with use of space, décor and history. The restaurants provide an excellent choice of dining options, with Restaurant Cà dei Frati's lagoon views, Restaurant Le Maschere's Venetian cuisine, and the poolside La Laguna's grill or even pizzas made in the traditional wood-burning oven (May-Sept).

There are also four large courtyards and the San Clemente Palace's centuries-old park forms the scenic backdrop for the hotel's outdoor swimming pool. Accommodation:

Rooms are decorated in the traditional Venetian style from the ?Serenissima? period. They are very spacious at around 42 metres squared and the high ceilings, sumptuous fabrics and fine furnishings give the rooms a luxury feel. Facilities include air conditioning, satellite television, minibar, hairdryer, safe and wifi. Most of the rooms have a view overlooking the Lagoon. Please note that all rooms are double but twin rooms are available on request and it is possible to add a single bed in the room for a third guest.

Junior Suite
The Junior Suites are elegant and bright with high ceilings, luxurious white bed linen and a sitting area with comfortable armchairs. The room is about 55 metres squared in size and the views are overlooking the park, the ancient cloisters or the flowered courtyards.

Suite
This suite is very large at 70 metres squared and it is exceptionally elegant with fine fabrics, elaborately detailed furnishings and wall hangings. Natural light pours into the room through the four large windows, which offer a view overlooking San Clemente's venerable park.

Family Suite
Family Suites are modern, elegant and comfortable with views overlooking the centuries-old Park of the San Clemente Island. The rooms are situated at the quietest corner of the hotel and they are comprised of an entrance hall, separate living-room with sofa and two armchairs, a large bathroom and bedroom. There are two satellite televisions, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, wifi access, fax, telephone, minibar, wardrobe, safe, radio, hairdryer, air conditioning. The marble bathroom has a separate shower, bathtub and toilet. The suite is around 70 metres squared in total and with the high ceilings it feels very spacious. These family suites are available on request and they are suitable for two adults and two children under the age of 14.

About Venice

Built on stilts and forming an archipelago of 117 small islands, Venice reposes on a liquid tapestry of calm canals and lazy lagoons 2,5 miles (4km) from Venice's mainland. Venice Lido is the largest island here and benefits from an 8 mile (13km) long beach, which at the turn of the 19th century, created a premier resort for international aristocrats. Regular vaporetti, exclusive motor launches and public water buses transport visitor to another world in the time it takes to drink a cappuccino.
