In addition to the fountain-splashed piazzas that stand as monuments to its great artists, distinguished by Bernini's Four Rivers in Piazza Navona, visitors are drawn in vast numbers to St Peter's Basilica and proceed to gather in the Vatican Museum with its celebrated Sistine Chapel.
