A member of 'The Leading Small Hotels of the World', the charming and secluded Hotel Mezzatorre Resort & Spa enjoys a majestic location on a lush pinnacle of Ischia.

This intimate retreat, with fabulous views of the coast of Naples, is located in Forio d'Ischia, not far from the villa where the famous Italian film director Luchino Visconti once lived in.

Lovely guest rooms are located in either the carefully restored Tower or hidden amongst an oasis of pine and oak trees. They are tastefully decorated with cool, neutral colours or warmer shades, each one complete with modern comforts. For something extra special, the spacious Deluxe Open Plan Suites, which are located in a separate building, each boast a canopied double bed and an outdoor patio with a sunken whirlpool.

Both the hotel's restaurants serve a select choice of Mediterranean dishes. Enjoy dinner in the glamorous Restaurant Chandelier, or under the palm-leaf roof of the outdoor Restaurant Sciuč Sciuč. The piano bar terrace is the perfect spot for after dinner drinks and stargazing. Start each morning with the lavish breakfast buffet, which is served on the terrace at the top of the cliff overlooking the hotel's private bay.

Another great feature of this hotel is its heated outdoor swimming pool, accompanied by a bar and restaurant, and access into the azure sea is via bathing platforms. The extensive spa uses the most exclusive techniques and up to date treatments, which include a water therapy pool and turkish bath.

About Ischia

Set in the Gulf of Naples, the island of Ischia sprawls languidly over a mountainous and flower draped terrain, which rolls down to delightful small towns and villages. Points of attraction are the characteristic port, the evocative haven of Sant'Angelo's long golden beaches and the wooded hills and terraced vineyards.

FORIO

Forio is a pretty little town sprawling round a bay with its old town and church, a beautiful landmark from which panoramic views of the town can be seen.

ISCHIA TOWN

A delightful and vivacious town, the real centre of the island with a variety of colourful shops, restaurants and taverns. Some of the white and multi coloured houses stretch along the edge of a lake which was once a crater.

SANT'ANGELO

A lovely fishing village on the southerly and most verdant part of the island and to the east stretches the long sandy beach of Maronti, the largest beach on the island. On the surrounding terrain you will come across many fumaroles, where steam emerges from under the rocks.

ISCHIA'S THERMAL SPRINGS

The abundance of springs on Ischia have been attracting visitors since the Roman times. Used for treating numerous ailments, these waters are today applied using methods ranging from thermal baths and underwater massages to mud baths. There are thermal establishments such as the Aphrodite Apollon Thermal Garden in Sant'Angelo plus health and beauty centers in many of the quality hotels in Ischia.
