La Posta Vecchia, Lazio
About La Posta Vecchia
Dating from the 17th century and built on the remains of an ancient Roman villa, which legend says was once the weekend retreat of a socially influential character in ancient Rome. La Posta Vecchia is a magnificent example of a truly unique and exclusive hotel. The ideal place for a relaxing break, it is surrounded by 17 acres of parkland and every one of the guestrooms is beautifully and individually furnished, with many rooms on the 1st floor filled with priceless antiques and works of art ? particularly the suites, most of which enjoy wonderful sea views. The enormous terrace, which runs along the entire length of the villa and looks out over the shoreline, is the perfect setting for breakfast, an aperitivo or a romantic candle-lit dinner accompanied by fine wines and from its extensive list. The indoor swimming pool has views towards Palo Castle on one side and the sea on the other, while just below there is a small sandy beach for the exclusive use of its guests. Beneath the villa there is a fascinating Roman Museum. La Posta Vecchia, certainly unique in Italy, if not in the world, comes highly recommended and for those who know it, is much sought after. We advise early booking to avoid disappointment.Accommodation:
