The stylish resorts of the Tuscan coast feature grand hotels, revered restaurants, pine-shaded villas and palm-lined promenades; and are within easy reach of Lucca, Pisa and Florence - perfect for a culture-filled day trip.

FORTE DEI MARMI
One of the most stylish resorts, favoured by wealthy Italians as a summer retreat. Its wide sandy beach, elegant shops and leafy avenues make it one of the most exclusive holiday resorts on the Tuscany coast.

PORTO ERCOLE
Built around a tiny harbour and protected by a Spanish fortress on either side. The old town of Porto Ercole is entered through a Gothic gate and there are several restaurants and bars.

VIAREGGIO
This is the main town of the Riviera and is one of the most popular and busiest seaside resorts on Tuscany's Tyrrhenian coast. It is famed for its beautifully maintained beach and gracious old buildings with their Liberty style facades and which line the 'Passeggiata Margherita', the town's famous promenade.
