About Hotel Il San Pietro
The luxurious Hotel Il San Pietro is widely considered to be one of the best hotels in Italy, and is part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux group of hotels. It was converted in 1970 from a private villa with a chapel into the exclusive hotel it is today by its owner, Carlo Cinque, whose portrait still hangs in the hotel's reception area.Poised high above the bay in peaceful seclusion, Hotel Il San Pietro is built into the rock face amongst panoramic terraces bedecked with climbing plants and bougainvillea.
Each uniquely decorated guest room comes with a private terrace benefiting from far-reaching views across the Mediterranean. There are several elegant lounges in which to relax, decorated in the sophisticated local style with vaulted ceilings, hand-painted ceramic tiles and furniture upholstered in sumptuous fabrics. The Hotel Il San Pietro's excellent one star Michelin-rated restaurant serves a variety of superb local and international cuisine using some ingredients grown on-site and, weather permitting, guests can dine outside on the two terraces.
On one of the higher terraces is a freshwater swimming pool, with views reaching as far as Capri's picturesque Faraglioni. While away the long days on the hotel's private shingle beach, complete with sun loungers, bar and tennis court. The beach sits below the main building and is reached by a lift.
