Rise early for your full day in Venice. By pre-booking a walking tour of Venice, you’ll be able to take in the delights of the Golden Basilica, St Mark’s Clock Tower and The Doge's Palace with an expert guide on hand. From St. Mark's Square, you will be expertly guided through the back-streets to the Santa Maria Formosa and magnificent church of San Giovanni e Paolo, passing by Marco Polo's house to the bustling Mercerie before finishing back in St. Mark's Square. Be sure to set aside some time in the afternoon to enjoy a coffee in one of the square’s pavement cafes – many of which offer live classical music as an accompaniment.

Take the train to the romantic city of Verona (approx. 1 hour 15 minutes), the scene of Shakespeare's greatest love story – Romeo and Juliet. Check in to your centrally located hotel and head to Piazza Bra and Verona Arena, one of the best preserved treasures of the Roman Empire. We think that the best way to soak up the enchanting atmosphere of this magical city is on foot, so wander down the bustling Via Mazzini, Verona's main shopping street for a feel of this atmospheric destination. Romantics will love the opportunity to look out over Juliet's balcony, and there’s plenty of renaissance architecture and ancient roman monuments to admire, too. If you fancy a break, pause for an alfresco cappuccino at one of Pizza delle Erbe's pavement cafés and people watch in style.

Today you will be heading for Italy’s greatest lake. Catch the train to Desenzano Del Garda Station and then transfer to your chosen resort and fabulous hotel on Lake Garda. We recommend spending the afternoon and early evening exploring the area, meandering through the narrow cobbled alleyways and along lakefront promenades to discover hidden eateries tucked away from the tourist trails.

Today is you last full day in Lake Garda, so make the most of the lake’s beautiful surroundings. Visit Malcesine's iconic Scaligeri Castle, one of a family of four castles around the lake built by the Lords of Verona, spend a day on the thrilling rides at the Gardaland theme park, or spend the day relaxing by the canals of pretty Pescheira del Garda – a beautiful town often compared to Venice.

Flight Information

Direct flights to Venice Marco Polo airport (VCE) are available from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London City, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Manchester, Newcastle and Southend and take approximately 2 hours. Transfers from the airport are by water taxi or water bus and take approximately 40 minutes to reach the centre of Venice.

Direct flights to Venice Treviso airport (TSF) depart from London Stansted, Leeds Bradford, Bristol and East Midlands and take approximately 2 hours.
