Land at Marco Polo International Airport and travel via water taxi to one of our fantastic and varied choice of hotels in the heart of Venice. Start your holiday in style with a serenaded gondola ride and float gently through the city's labyrinth of atmospheric canals to the music of classical Italian opera, before disembarking to enjoy a traditional Venetian meal at the waterside.

Map of Day 2: Venice

Pre-book the Walking Tour of Venice excursion and get a feel for the city's main attractions; taking in the delights of the Golden Basilica, Clock Tower and the Doge's Palace. From St. Mark's Square, you will be expertly guided through the back-streets to churches of Santa Maria Formosa and San Giovanni e Paolo, passing by Marco Polo's house to the bustling Mercerie, Venice's main shopping street. The tour culminates in a final visit to St Mark’s Square, where it is popular to enjoy a latte in one of the many pavement cafes lining the piazza’s edge.

Alternatively, spend the afternoon exploring the wider delights of Venice on the pre-bookable Islands Tour. Watch traditional glass blowing in Murano, wander past the brightly coloured fisherman's houses of Burano and take in the silent atmosphere of the barren Torcello Island – one of Venice’s most atmospheric sights.

Wave goodbye to Venice as you embark on the brief but exciting train journey from the Venezia Santa Lucia Station to the beautiful city of Verona (approx. 1 hour 15 minutes). After checking in to your hotel, head out into the atmospheric city streets and visit some of the biggest attractions, like Juliet’s romantic balcony and Piazza Bra’s Verona Arena, where you can enjoy live opera during the summer.

Today, you have a full day to explore Verona, so we recommend tackling the city on foot, perhaps visiting some of Verona’s lesser-known attractions, like the beautiful Giusti Gardens, and the soaring Lamberti Tower. Finish up by strolling through the vibrant Piazza delle Erbe, browsing the colourful market stands or sipping coffee in a pavement cafe.
