After three nights based in Siena, you’ll head north to Florence, Tuscany’s stunning capital city. In the evening, enjoy an aperitivo and a sunset stroll along the Arno River, before seeking out a traditional trattoria for your last meal in Tuscany. If you spot bistecca alla Fiorentina on the menu, we’d highly recommend it – this huge T-bone steak (big enough for two to share) is Florence’s signature dish.

Day 6: Florence

Map of Day 6: Florence

For your full day here, we’d recommend getting up early to visit the city’s jaw-dropping cathedral. Beat the queues and enjoy panoramic views from Brunelleschi’s dome or Giotto’s Campanile; the former allows a close-up look at the frescoes that decorate the interior of the dome, while the latter means you get the best outlook onto the dome itself. In the afternoon, you could explore the art-filled Uffizi Gallery or head across the river to the Pitti Palace museums.

Day 7: Florence - Pisa - UK
