Set on the famous square - Piazza Castello - this grand palace has a long history as residence to royalty, governments and senates alike. It’s a unique mix of Roman, medieval and Baroque styles, making this not only an iconic landmark for Turin, but one of the most acknowledged buildings in Piedmont. Today, it’s the chosen home for the Civic Museum of Ancient Art, bursting with sculptures, paintings, ceramics and celebrated masterpieces, spanning from the late Middle Ages to the 18th century. The works of Palazzo Madama aim to tell the story of the building’s history and the impressive collection it houses, occupying four floors.

After touring Palazzo Madama and its much-loved museum, you will be right in the heart of Piazza Castello – Turin’s old quarter. Here, an abundance of historical sights, museums and Roman ruins will leave you spoilt for choice.

 

Museum opening hours: 10am – 6pm daily (closed Tuesdays) and 7pm on Sundays. Last entrance is one hour before closing.   

Museum entrance price: €10 for adults. Free admission applies on the first Wednesday of each month.
