This holiday starts in Turin, home of one of the biggest Slow Food festivals in the world. The city is also the capital of Piedmont, so expect a mountain-backed skyline of spires and domes. Points of Interest

Map of Day 1 - 2: Turin

Turin is your introduction to the Piedmont region. This is a city that combines dramatic Alpine landscapes with a grand city centre crosshatched with poker-straight boulevards and specialist museums. (We recommend the National Museum of Cinema in the Mole Antonelliana tower.)

Turin is also home to the biannual Slow Food conference, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, so it’s a real must-see on the foodie bucket list. Fresh mountain produce inspires the city’s famous antipasti boards – expect creamy robiola and cushiony crusty bread. Truffle Parmesan polenta is another local favourite.

Aperitif-wise, you can try cocktails created from two of Turin’s most famous drinks: Cinzano and Martini.

Day 3 - 8: Piedmont Countryside

Map of Day 3 - 8: Piedmont Countryside

Turin owes much of its foodie credentials to its spot in the Alps. You’ll see this for yourself in the next part of your holiday, when you transfer to your hotel in the Piedmont countryside.

Out here, villas and farms have been transformed into luxury hotels and spas. Rolling vistas are a given – as is up-close access to Barolo vineyards, white truffle farms and Alpine dairy pastures.

Fancy extending your holiday? Add on a few days in Lake Maggiore for a taste of one of Italy’s most laid-back lakes.

Extend Your Stay

Take in more of the destination or relax in a spa at the end of your trip by adding few extra nights stay in one of these hand picked hotels.
