  • Queue-jump tickets to the Borghese Gallery
  • Guided tour by a local expert
  • Hamper provided for an al fresco picnic in the park

This half-day excursion is perfect for a sunny day in Rome. You’ll begin with a guided tour of the Borghese Gallery, a 17th-century villa housing one of the city’s best art collections. On the ground floor, you’ll discover mosaic floors, beautiful frescoes and sculptures from the likes of Bernini and Canova, while upstairs in the pinoteca, you can admire paintings by greats such as Titian and Raphael.

After you’re finished in the gallery, your guide will take you on a walk through the Borghese Gardens (also known as the Villa Borghese). The guide will leave you at the Pincio Terrace, one of the best viewpoints in Rome (don’t forget your camera). From here, you can make your own way to Piazza Bucarest, around five minutes’ stroll from the terrace. At 12.30, your picnic hamper will be delivered to you, filled with delicious homemade goodies (plus essentials like cutlery, glassware and napkins). Take your Italian feast into the park and find a spot to settle down, then tuck in – buon appetito!

We say: “A picnic in the gardens is a lovely way to round off a visit to the Borghese Gallery. After you’ve finished eating, you could hire a rowing boat on the little lake or just relax in the sunshine!” Laura Mason, Product Manager
