Touch down in Milan and check in to your hotel, then venture out to explore the city. Make the Duomo your first port of call – its grand Gothic architecture is spectacular. In the evening, you can head to a relaxed Gullivers social for a few drinks and a chat with other F1 fans.

Day 2: Milan

Today, you’ve got the option of attending Qualifying Day or exploring more of Milan. If you go for the former, after breakfast you’ll take a coach to the circuit in time for the practice and qualifying laps. In the evening, why not try aperitivo, a very Milanese tradition of early-evening drinks accompanied by bite-size snacks.

Day 3: Milan

It’s race day! A luxury coach will whisk you over to the circuit for the 12.30 Formula 1 Driver Track Parade. The main event gets going at 2pm, and there will also be plenty of track action for the GP2, GP3 and Porsche Super Cup Series. After a busy day, refuel with a hearty local classic: risotto alla Milanese. Wash it down with a local wine, too – Lombardy produces some excellent ones.

Day 4: Milan - Florence

It’s off to Florence today. A private transfer will take you to Milan Centrale station, where you’ll catch the train down to the Tuscan capital. For your first evening in the city, we’d recommend a sunset stroll along the River Arno or a walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view over the sights.

Day 5: Florence

Points of Interest

Continue with the motoring theme with an excursion to the famous Ferrari Museum in the neighbouring region of Emilia-Romagna. After checking out the museum’s supercars and trophies, the excursion turns to focus on Emilia-Romagna’s famous cuisine. Taste traditionally produced balsamic vinegar in Modena (it’s unlike most varieties you’ll find in the supermarket – this stuff can sell for more than £100 a bottle), lunch on regional specialities at a local restaurant, then sample freshly made Parmigiano-Reggiano in a nearby cheese factory.

Day 6: Florence

Points of Interest

Discover the spectacular scenery of the Tuscan countryside on a full-day excursion today. You’ll make your way through the vineyards and rolling hills of Chianti to Siena, where you’ll have an expert-led tour through its medieval streets. After a bit of free time for lunch and a wander, it’s on to San Gimignano, a hilltop town famous for its ancient towers. On your way back to Florence, you’ll stop off at a rustic farm house for a little taster of local wines, along with charcuterie, cheeses and bruschetta.

Day 7 : Florence

Points of Interest

Make the most of your final day in Florence with a guided walking tour of the city’s best bits. It includes entry to the famous Uffizi Gallery, where you can view some of the most impressive Renaissance art in the world. Look out for Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and Caravaggio’s Medusa.

A 90-minute train ride takes you down to your final stop: Rome. Once you arrive at Termini station, a private transfer will pick you up to drive you to your chosen hotel.

Day 8: Rome

Points of Interest

Tick off three of the Eternal City’s most important sites today with our Archaeological Wonders of Rome excursion. An expert guide will lead you around the Roman Forum’s cobbled streets, showing you ancient arches and crumbling temples, before you head to the famous Colosseum. The final stop will be Palatine Hill, which offers up incredible views of Rome as well as another collection of fascinating ruins. The excursion lasts around three hours, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own too – or retreat to a café for cappuccini and people-watching.

Day 9 : Rome

Map of Day 9 : Rome

You’ll learn how to make proper Roman pizza today, with a fun, interactive cooking masterclass. It doesn’t kick off until 5pm though, so until then, pull on some comfy shoes and head out to see the sights. The Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are must-sees, and the Villa Borghese is a great place to relax if the weather’s nice (there’s a fantastic art museum here, but you’ll need to book tickets in advance). No need to find a restaurant for dinner – you’ll get to tuck in to your handmade pizza after your class, along with crispy bruschetta and a delicious dessert.

Day 10: Rome

Please call one of our Italy experts to discuss your accommodation choices

Map of Day 10: Rome

This morning you’ll leave Rome and enter the world’s smallest sovereign state, Vatican City. Our Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica excursion includes tickets to the museums and Sistine Chapel (and an expert guide to help you get the most out of your time there), as well as queue-jump entry to the spectacular St. Peter’s Basilica. You’ll be finished around midday, so why not walk the 10 minutes to Castel Sant’Angelo, a former fortress and mausoleum turned museum (be sure to head up to the roof terrace for fantastic views of Rome and the Vatican).
