A fine example of 13th century Medicean architecture, this dignified villa now ranks as one of Italy's finest luxury hotels. Villa La Massa enjoys an enviable semi-rural location amidst enchanting Chianti and Rufina hills on the south bank of the River Arno, yet the centre of Florence is only a 15 minute drive away.
A member of 'The Leading Hotels of the World' collection, the villa has beautifully decorated lounges and guest rooms and is housed in six buildings; the Noble Villa, the Mill, the Villino, the Casa Calonica, the Limonaia and Villa Hombert. Guests have the opportunity to explore Florence on a regular basis using the hotel's courtesy shuttle to and from the Ponte Vecchio.
The hotel provides the exclusive Arno Spa which features cold water pools and sensory showers, a Turkish bath, sauna and a fitness room. Guests can also unwind with a classic Italian aperitivo at the Bar Mediceo before enjoying superb Tuscan specialities on the terrace of the elegant Restaurant Il Verrocchio, overlooking the peaceful River Arno and the gently sloping Tuscan hills, or in the private 15th century wine cellar. Neighbouring the recently restyled pool, L'Oliveto Bistrot is open for lunch. Named after the surrounding olive trees, which are used to produce the hotel’s own olive oil, the restaurant occupies a former barn.

One of Florence’s most romantic restaurants, Il Verrocchio deserves a special mention due to the elegant ambience with spellbinding views over the Arno and the Tuscan hills. Chef Stefano Ballarino serves a traditional Italian dinner menu with contemporary flourishes, which is centred on a selection of local produce and the estate’s organic extra-virgin olive oil.
The vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu are based on the hotel’s kitchen garden, which is looked after by the chef and his team. What makes Il Verrocchio Restaurant unique is its scenic position along the River Arno and the surrounding views of the Tuscan hills, which can be evinced from the picturesque terrace and interior, where the large windows open out onto vistas of rare beauty.
L’Oliveto Bistrot is situated in a renovated stone barn adjacent to the pool at Villa La Massa. The Bistrot is named after the multitude of olive trees in the 10 hectares of the hotel grounds, which
provide choice Villa La Massa extra-virgin olive oil. L’Oliveto has a laidback and cosy atmosphere with a charming outdoor patio enveloped by country shades and scents. Natural hues, open beams and stone details define the interior, all of which are reminiscent of Tuscan traditions.

The Bar Mediceo, set like a jewel in the main villa, is a glamorous and alluring lounge where guests can sip an aperitif or one of the Villa La Massa signature cocktails.
The Cellar is situated beneath the restaurant 'Il Verrocchio' in the Mill and is the ideal place for wine and cheese tasting or for private wine tasting parties.
