Rome’s Spanish Steps are known around the world for their majesty and beauty, and have captivated travellers for nearly 300 years. Linking two of Rome’s most important attractions – the Piazza di Spagna and the Trinita dei Monti church – this impressive 135-step staircase has been an essential part of the city ever since it was built.
Flowing down from the church in a cascade of white stone, the Spanish Steps lead directly to the beautiful little Fontana della Baraccia fountain, and provide easy access to the John Keats' House museum. This is often the starting place for city tours, with the Trevi Fountain just a short stroll away through the historic Roman streets.
