Take a break from the crowds and head to Fiesole which sits peacefully in the hills just above the city. The stunning views are reason alone for visiting the sleepy village, which is home to ancient Roman ruins and 11th century buildings. Finish the day back in Florence, ticking off any sights you haven’t yet made it to. With the Boboli Gardens, Pitti palace, Baptistery, Basilica of Sante Croce, and much more to see, this is sure to be an action-packed afternoon. Leave fair Florence behind as you speed via train to Venice – Italy’s floating city. Catch the train from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station to Venice’s main station (approx. 2 hours), take a water taxi to your chosen hotel and head out into the enchanting streets for your first glimpse of the city.

Begin the day with a visit to the city’s most remarkable attraction – St. Mark's Basilica; with its multi coloured marble pillars and floor to ceiling mosaics it's easily one of Italy’s greatest historical gems. Next, climb to the top of the Campanile (clock tower) for spectacular views over the city, or head to the Bridge of Sighs or the mesmerising Doge’s palace – a mighty complex of historic buildings, packed with glorious artworks and remarkable sights. Finish with a coffee in St Mark’s Square, as live musicians serenade you and endless crowds bustle past.

Flight Information

The majority of international flights arrive into Pisa airport (PSA), which is approximately 60 minutes from the centre of Florence. Direct flights to Pisa are available from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Manchester and Newcastle and take approximately 2 hours. Flights into Florence airport are also available to book through our Travel Centre.
