Check in to your hotel and make the most of the remaining daylight by heading into the Roman streets. Today, we recommend heading straight to Rome’s greatest temple – St. Peter's Basilica. It opens early, so explore the grand interior before climbing the steps to view Rome's spectacular cityscape from hundreds of feet above. Next, visit the Vatican museums, home to one of the most important art collections in the world, before finishing with the unforgettable Sistine Chapel. Afterwards, head across the river to the Piazza Navona – one of Rome’s most enchanting squares, full of statues, fountains and energetic traders.

Today, embark on a Roman odyssey with the Ancient Rome and Colosseum excursion. Start the day with a guided tour of the evocative ruins of the Roman Forum, followed by a visit to the largest amphitheatre on earth, the Colosseum. Finish up with a visit to Palatine Hill and the ancient 'Palatium', the historical residence of the Caesars. After you’ve had your fill of history, make your way to the Trevi Fountain and throw a lucky coin in to ensure your return one day.

Flight Information

The majority of international flights arrive into Pisa airport (PSA), which is approximately 60 minutes from the centre of Florence. Direct flights to Pisa are available from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Manchester and Newcastle and take approximately 2 hours. Flights into Florence airport are also available to book through our Travel Centre.
