Take home an insight into one of Italy’s greatest passions with an exclusive cooking lesson in Rome. This half-day experience starts with shopping locally for the perfect ingredients, before retreating to a city-view apartment to prepare your masterpiece under the watchful eye of a chef. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labour with a perfectly matched glass of wine.

Today, you’ll tick off some of the most important sites in the whole of Italy. The half-day Ancient Rome and the Colosseum tour takes you through around the architectural triumphs of the Roman Empire, including the Roman Forum, Arch of Titus and finally, the Colosseum and famous Palatine Hill.

On day four you’ll bid arrivederci to the capital and hop on a train to Italy’s foremost Renaissance city, Florence. Travelling by train is quick and easy; the high-speed service takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, and we’ll take care of booking your train tickets. Once you arrive in Florence, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed dinner – we recommend the famous Florentine steak and a glass of red.

Florence is the gateway to one of Italy’s most important food and wine regions: Tuscany. Experience it for yourself with a relaxing half-day excursion to Chianti, where you’ll explore the famously beautiful countryside and stop at several vineyards, learning about local wine production as well as sampling numerous Chianti variations.

Back in the city, today is all about soaking up Florence’s famous culture. Start with a two-hour guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery, one of the country’s best-known art galleries with works by Michelangelo, Caravaggio and many more. Spend the rest of the day strolling the beautiful Boboli Gardens, see Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia Galleries or go for aperitivo at a city bar.

Flight Information

The majority of international flights arrive into Pisa airport (PSA), which is approximately 60 minutes from the centre of Florence. Direct flights to Pisa are available from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Manchester and Newcastle and take approximately 2 hours. Flights into Florence airport are also available to book through our Travel Centre.
