  • Free time to explore the villages of Portvenere, Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso
  • Enjoy a traditional Ligurian lunch
  • Limoncino ligure tasting in quaint local wine shop

An unforgettable day on the Ligurian coast visiting the beautiful town of Portovenere and the Cinque Terre ("five villages").

Your tour begins with a stop at Portovenere, one of the smallest seaside towns along the Ligurian coast. Packed full of charm, this elegant town is known for its colourful row of waterfront houses, against a dramatic, hilly backdrop - the perfect photo op.

Next, you'll travel through the Cinque Terre National Park by train or ferry before reaching Manarola. There will be free time here, so you can explore at your leisure. Discover the hidden streets of the most colourful town in the Cinque Terre, and explore the San Lorenzo Church, dating back to the 14th century. Next stop: Vernazza, a town overlooked by the remains of a medieval castle and soaring tower, before ending the day at Monterosso. Known as the 'Pearl of Cinque Terre’, Monterosso is an ancient fishing village home to a sandy beach and lovely seafront promenade, connecting the traditional houses and alleyways (carruggi) to the new neighbourhood, Fegina. You'll sit down to a traditional Ligurian lunch, before washing it down with Limoncino ligure tasting (Liguria's limoncello) in a local wine shop.

We'd recommend comfortable clothes for this excursion, and bring along swimwear and a sun hat. The itinerary may be subject to change.
