What do you love about Italy?

I love that every place you visit has its own history and stories behind it, which you discover walking around from all the attractions and sights.

Which are your favourite Italian destinations and why?

I love Florence for its cobbled streets and the history you find walking through the city, and Sicily for its small independent restaurants on every street, offering the classic Italian pizza and pasta dishes. The beautiful island of Capri is another of my favourites.

Any ‘hidden gems’ you can recommend?

My favourite hidden gem was a café specialising in gelato in the centre of Taormina, called C&G (Cioccolato e Gelato), which made the gelato fresh daily, with terrace views over the bay and Mount Etna.

Describe your favourite memory of a trip to Italy.

Standing at the top of the Duomo in Florence, overlooking the whole of the city as a 360-degree panoramic view.

What would your dream multi-centre itinerary be?

My dream multi-centre would be Lake Como, Milan, Tuscany and Florence – travelling by rail, as there’s no better way to see the beautiful countryside.
