Bolzano’s Archaeology Museum is a modern and well-designed museum dedicated to displaying the region’s finest archaeological finds. It is best-known for being home to the Otzi mummy – an incredibly well-preserved Copper Age human, known colloquially as ‘Ice Man’. Concealed within a preservative cell, this remarkable mummy is thought to be the oldest remains of a European ever discovered. Housed in a striking neo-baroque building, the museum also features a shop, which can be visited without an entry fee.

 

Opening hours: The museum is open from 10am – 6pm between Tuesday and Sunday, with closure on Mondays (except for holidays and summer months). Exceptions apply.

Price: €9 per adult / €7 per student, senior aged 65 and above or guest with disability. Family tickets are available.
