Map of Day 1: UK - Amalfi Coast

Arrive at Naples International Airport and transfer along the steep southern shore of the Sorrento Peninsula to your chosen Amalfi coastal town (approx. 1.5 hours). On your first afternoon, we recommend getting to grips with the stunning surroundings, either by heading to the nearest beachfront, or by enjoying a glass of prosecco in the glorious sunshine.

Map of Days 2-4: Amalfi Coast

The picturesque Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s most dazzling destinations, dotted with charming towns that cling to tall cliff faces and overlook sparkling blue waters. During your stay fill your days with as much, or as little, activity as you want. Shop ‘til you drop in glamorous Positano, relax on the impressive sun-kissed beach of Maiori or explore the time-worn streets of Ravello - famous for its panoramic views and the celebrated botanical gardens of Villas Cimbrone and Rufolo.

For those wanting to see even more of Italy’s beautiful scenery, the pre-bookable Capri excursion is the perfect option. Travel via super-fast hydrofoil and then enjoy a guided private minibus tour which includes a visit to Villa St. Michele museum and later the Garden of Augustus. There will also be time to browse the elegant island boutiques and take in the atmosphere of Piazza Umberto I.

Points of Interest

Make the dramatic coastal journey to the port of Pozzuoli (approx. 1.5 hours), and then take the hydrofoil to the 'Green Isle' of Ischia, the largest island in the gulf of Naples where you can check in to your chosen hotel. Several times larger than Capri, Ischia is dominated by volcanic peaks, and offers a wide range of thermal baths, scenic walks and dramatic views. Spend the late afternoon and early evening at the Mortella Botanical Gardens; created by Lord and Lady Walton in 1949 who transformed what was once a volcanic gorge into a tropical paradise draped with more than 3,000 plants from all over the world.

Day 6: Ischia

Points of Interest

Map of Day 6: Ischia

Start the day by visiting one of the island’s famous health spas; the thermal springs are heated by volcanic activity and have been popular since Roman and Greek times. Since then, modern spas and resorts have grown up around the best springs, so treat yourself to a massage or beauty treatment and relax in the healing waters of the natural hot springs. Spend the afternoon on one of Ischia’s beautiful beaches, soaking up the sun before your evening meal.

Day 7: Ischia

Points of Interest

Catch the bus from the harbour or walk to Ischia Ponte and visit the medieval Aragonese Castle – one of Ischia’s most spectacular sights. Set high on volcanic rock, it was originally used to protect the island’s population from pirate attacks. Climb the steep mule track or take the lift to the higher levels of the fortress and admire the views. Nearby, the crypt of the ruined Cathedral is adorned with frescoes in the style of Giotto. The nunnery houses an interesting cemetery where the departed were placed in upright chairs during the 1500-1800's. Fill the remainder of your day exploring the nearest resort’s boutiques, before enjoying a last meal on the island.
