Mount Etna & Taormina (to 1,900 metres)

A coach will take you to Taormina where you'll have some free time to explore this beautiful town, which dates back as far as 358 B.C. and is home to some of the most well-preserved buildings and medieval courtyards. Sip a cappuccino in the Piazza Nove Aprile, browse the chic boutiques, or check out the town's star attraction - its ancient Greek-Roman theatre. You will then travel to Mount Etna, Sicily's most famous natural landmark, and experience magnificent views from 1,900 metres.

For even more magnificent views, it is possible to take the ascent up to 2,900 metres, which you can book on the day of your excursion (approx. 65 euros, payable locally). However if you know in advance you would like to do this, we recommend booking the Premium Mount Etna excursion as its more cost effective.

Wine Tasting in Castelbuono

The Madonie Mountains are scattered with picturesque hilltop towns, and possibly the prettiest of all is Castelbuono. After a stroll through its medieval town centre, visiting the majestic castle, you will be able to sample some of the local cured meats, spicy cheese, honey and bread, all washed down with some special wine of the area.

Sicily's Capital Palermo

Enjoy a guided tour through the capital's busy streets and admire the unique mixture of Moorish, Arab, Gothic, Norman and Baroque architecture. You'll take a panoramic bus tour before a guided walking tour in the historical market of Ballarò, after which you'll have free time for lunch, shopping and visiting the beautiful cathedral.

Dinner in the Madonie Mountains

A drive through the Madonie National Park will take you to the beautiful mountain village of San Mauro Castelverde, famous for its medieval churches and small squares. From here you can admire the beautiful landscape and views to the sea. You will then set off to reach Karsa, a small hamlet of San Mauro village, and Trattoria La Posada for a real Sicilian feast. Everything you will taste will be organic and produced in the surrounding farms and typical Sicilian music will be played during dinner.
