About Neapolitan Riviera
The Neapolitan Riviera is Italy's most spectacular stretch of coastline and an idyllic holiday spot, boasting steep-stepped Positano clinging to tall cliffs; Amalfi with its whitewashed villas, fisherman's dwellings, merchant town houses and luxury hotels that overlook sapphire coloured seas; beautiful Ravello, whose lofty setting commands inspirational views and the ever popular Sorrento, with its scenic beauty, bustling town and lively bars and restaurants.
Pre-bookable Excursions
Amalfi Drive (from Sorrento): It is said to be the most spectacular road in Europe, and from Sorrento the winding cliff top road offers breathtaking panoramic views at every bend. You'll stop at Amalfi and Ravello to visit Villa Rufolo, which gave the musician Richard Wagner the inspiration to create one of his most famous operas, Parsifal.
Pompeii & Vesuvius (from Sorrento & Amalfi Coast): Wondering through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii, you can see Baths, Forums and Villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 B.C. A coach will take you to within 1,000 metres from the top of Mount Vesuvious, and from there you can opt to walk to the very top with a specialist guide and admire the splendid panoramic views across the bay.
Sorrento & Herculaneum (from Amalfi Coast): Drive through the picturesque villages of Conca dei Marini, Furore and Praiano, before arriving in Sorrento where you'll spend the morning. In the early afternoon you'll head to Herculaneum for a guided visit of this once residential town that was buried in ashes by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
Please Note: Some site entrance tickets may be payable locally.
