Italy is a great place for a family holiday, whether you’re looking for a relaxed stay by the beach or a holiday packed with activities and sightseeing. Italy is renowned for its family-orientated approach to life, and we offer a range of hotels that cater specifically to the needs of families.

Our family-friendly hotels have rooms and facilities designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible, offering everything from kids’ clubs and pools, to early meal sittings and children’s menus at the restaurants. Many also offer a selection of sports – ideal for keeping older children entertained – as well as essentials for those travelling with tots, like highchairs and cots. Inter-connecting rooms and suites are often available to give families a bit more space, too. You’ll find full details of what’s on offer on the individual hotel pages.

Take a look below at some of our recommended family holidays:

Sardinia’s Forte Village Resort is perfect for families, with white-sand beaches, kids’ activities that range from pizza making to dance workshops, and a number of highly rated sports academies. There are also special menus for little ones in most of the restaurants, and a wide variety of accommodation options.

This Apulian property’s one and two-bedroom townhouses are ideal for families, with plenty of space for everyone. The restaurants serve kid-friendly menus and have early meal sittings, plus there are activities for everyone from tots up to teenagers.

This beachfront hotel offers kids’ clubs that cater for all ages, with activities like cooking classes, canoe excursions and five-a-side football. There’s also a crèche, plus a 24-hour nursery with facilities including bottle warmers, baby food, nappies and changing tables.

Stay at Saline and little ones can splash in the sea-water pool, play on the private stretch of beach, or have fun in the daily kids’ club. Babysitting is also on offer, and the restaurant provides highchairs and special children’s menus.

As well as six swimming pools, the Hilton Sorrento Palace boasts a sea-view restaurant with highchairs and a kids’ menu, and a selection of family-size and inter-connecting rooms. The kids’ club organises fun activities such as treasure hunts and football tournaments, too.

Kids have plenty to keep them busy here, with activities at the four children’s clubs ranging from tennis matches to beach games. For parents with very young children, there’s a nursery, plus free welcome kits with bottle warmers, a changing mat and a baby bath.

As well as a beautiful location beside a sandy beach, the Hotel Flamingo offers a trio of restaurants, plus a kids’ club, dedicated activities for teens, and a separate pool for children to play in.

The Naxos Beach Resort offers families the option of early meal sittings and special children’s menus, as well as activity-filled kids’ clubs and shallow areas within both swimming pools (ideal for younger swimmers).

Inter-connecting rooms give families the option of having a little more space to spread out in. There’s also a kids’ club and babysitting service, and the hotel can arrange cots and highchairs for babies and toddlers.

Arts and crafts, games and mini-discos are organised for little ones here, plus there’s a playground and a dedicated children’s pool. If you fancy a relaxed dinner for two, babysitting can be arranged as well.

Your Journey

We understand how important it is to ensure a stress-free journey when travelling as a family. Our extensive selection of flights means that you are sure to find a flight that best suits you, and you have the flexibility to choose the day and time you travel. If you choose to fly with our sister airline, Thomson Airways, infants also receive a baggage allowance of 10kg. For a stress-free flight you can pre-book group seating for a small charge with Thomson Airways and some other airlines, ensuring your family can sit together. Upgrades to premium cabins with more legroom, bigger seats and an increased baggage allowance may also be available. Our Italy Experts will be able to inform you of the full range of options with your chosen carrier. Following your flight, the quickest way to your hotel is to pre-book a private transfer. For full prices and details of our private transfers please ask at the time of booking.

Family Offers

At many of our hotels for families, up to two children can stay free when sharing a room with two adults. These exceptional offers are available for departure dates throughout the year, including school holidays, and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Where free child places are not available, we are pleased to offer discounts for children and offers for children travelling with one parent.
