My name is Amanda and I cover Tuscany, Umbria, Puglia and Basilicata.
I’ve been a Citalia concierge since 2008. I live in Tuscany, between Siena and Florence, and have lived there for nearly 30 years. I love it because there’s lots of variety here – places to visit, things to see, the climate! As much as anything, the quality of life, the food and the lifestyle generally.

The beauty of Tuscany and Umbria is that the countryside is so varied. It’s nice to explore the region a bit – I love driving around Lake Trasimeno in Umbria when it’s a nice day, or taking a boat trip on the lake. Just take time to breathe in the air and the atmosphere, have a Prosecco or a cappuccino along the way.
It’s also nice to go to the markets, which have an amazing choice of fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, bread, cheeses – you can try things that you may not have tried before. My local market is Poggibonsi, which is just amazing. People come up from Naples with fresh mozzarella, it’s very big and there’s lots of choice.
On my dream day off I’d go into the city, maybe Siena or Florence. I live out in the countryside, so it’s always nice to have a change of pace sometimes. I’d go and look at somewhere I haven’t been to before, have a nice aperitivo and go out for dinner.
